Licuala Grandis
Licuala grandis, or the Ruffled Fan Palm, is a striking palm native to the rainforests of Papua New Guinea and nearby islands. Renowned for its unique fan-shaped leaves, which are deeply cut and ruffled, this palm resembles a hand-held fan, creating a lush, dramatic effect in any indoor space. The leaves can reach up to 1.5 meters (5 feet) in diameter, adding a touch of tropical elegance to your home. At GreenbitsFamily, we believe in enhancing wellness through nature, and this exotic palm aligns perfectly with our values, offering beauty and tranquility. Bringing home the Ruffled Fan Palm not only embellishes your interior but also supports a holistic approach to a healthy lifestyle.
Soil
Licuala grandis do well in well-draining, organic-rich potting mix. Combine a high-quality potting mix with compost and perlite or coarse sand to ensure excellent drainage and moisture retention. Or simply use Greenbits Sg indoor mix.
Water
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water the plant thoroughly until water drains out of the bottom of the pot, then allow the top inch of soil to dry out before watering again.
Ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent root rot. Using Greenbits Sg indoor mix can help with this.
Light
Licuala Grandis prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, causing them to turn brown and crispy. Place the plant near a window with filtered light or use sheer curtains to diffuse the sunlight.
Ideal locations include windows where it can receive gentle morning sunlight or bright, indirect light throughout the day.
